René Marroquin was born in Los Angeles, California.  Growing up in a household full of instruments he always enjoyed learning and teaching his siblings to play as well.  After high school he started teaching high school drumlines helping them win many high-performance awards for percussion sections at Los Alamitos High and Garfield High.  Over the span of 10+ years he has worked teaching all grade levels from K-12 both through after school programs and private organizations.   Currently playing with local bands, René has enjoyed playing different venues across the country as well as the The House of Blues, The Colosseum, and has even had the chance to tour all over Mexico.  He enjoys teaching different styles of percussion as well as the different aspects of drumming both has a soloist and in a band setting.
