Harpsichordist, fortepianist, and modern pianist Melody Lin enjoys an active musical career in Asia, the United States, and Europe. Lin holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Historical Performance Practices/Keyboard Studies at Claremont Graduate University, where she studied harpsichord with Prof. Robert Zappulla and modern piano and fortepiano with Prof. Jenny Soonjin Kim. She gave multiple solo recitals on those instruments and participated in chamber music concerts on a frequent basis.

Prior to earning her doctorate, Lin had received her master’s degree in Music, majoring in Piano Performance, and was the top graduate from Taiwan Fu Jen Catholic University, where she studied under Dr. Ming-Hui Lin. In 2011 she joined the Applied Music Program at East Los Angeles College, working closely with her dedicated mentor, Dr. Lucy Nargizyan.

In 2012 Lin was invited to perform Beethoven's third piano concerto with the East Los Angeles College Symphony Orchestra. In 2017 she performed J.S. Bach’s harpsichord concerto No. 4 with the La Verne Symphony Orchestra. In 2022 she gave a solo harpsichord recital at the National Recital Hall in Taiwan. She also has worked with many renowned artists, including Siegfried Mauser, Christiana Lin, Alain Jacquon, Bernadene Blaha, Kevin Fitzgerald, Jean-David Cohen, Pi-Hsien Chen, and Hung-Kuan Chen, among others. In addition, she has participated both domestically and internationally in various music festivals—the Piano German Master Class of the International Music Camp, the Beverly Hills International Festival, and the Lyon Académie De Fourvière International Summer Music Academy, to name a few. The list is expected to grow as she continues to actively engage and participate in the global communities of music during the next stage of her career—for example, she recently has been performing with the Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra. Lin is currently a member of the Music Teachers Association of California. Lin’s recording, Virtuoso Harpsichord Music, soon will be released by the British label, CRD Records.
